Increasing agricultural resilience and adaptation to climate change represents an urgency all over the world: for vulnerable communities living in Asia and Africa, where lives 95% of the world rural population; for coastal farmlands, due to the rise of the global sea levels and saltwater floods; for arid and semi-arid lands, where advancing desertification puts at risks crop and land productivity.

[Water]: Droughts cause 30% of the agricultural losses.

[Climate & Earth Regeneration]: In 2018 alone, 17.2 billion people were defined as newly displaced people by natural disasters. Inadequate access to natural resources, further exacerbated by climate change, imperil food security, which in turn accelerates the violence of conflicts.

[Humana Communitas]: Agriculture is a global industry that relies mostly on small farms. 72% of the roughly 570 million farms worldwide operate on less than one hectare and an additional 12% on less than two hectares.

Participants will investigate the strict interconnections among farms, climate change, and food insecurity, while reviewing the best practices in terms of mitigation and adaptation to global warming. Attendees will also be able to critically analyse practices such as agro-forestry techniques, traditional sustainable practices, indigenous ancient wisdom, plant-based proteins.
